Bilingual writer and translator, English and Arabic. I write copy that does its job, and translate so nothing flattens on the way across. Ten years, 6,000+ projects, for brands, executives, publishers, and a few regulators who read every line twice.

About

From load-bearing walls to load-bearing words.

I’m Hassan, and I came to language the long way, through civil engineering. Not a route any guidance counselor recommends. Six years on Egyptian construction sites, working up from site engineer to planner, taught me one rule fast: a single vague word in a spec and the wall doesn’t hold. I write and translate with that same paranoia.

I started taking translation jobs on the side in 2017, until the side became the whole thing. Ten years and more than 6,000 projects later, across 2,200-plus clients and north of 5 million words, the rule hasn’t moved. I still read every line like an inspector walking a slab before the pour.

The work pulls in two directions. There’s the translation, from a Kirkus-starred fantasy trilogy to annual reports filed with Saudi regulators. And there’s everything I write from the blank page: websites, landing pages, campaigns, and the LinkedIn posts executives get the credit for. English and Arabic both, with Modern Standard Arabic, Egyptian, and Gulf (Khaleeji) on hand depending on who’s reading. Nothing I send out reads like a translation, and no sentence clocks out early. Whatever you put your name on holds up in front of the people who read for a living, whether that’s an auditor, the CMA, or a thirteen-year-old who’ll shut the book the second a line of dialogue rings false.

Selected clients

A few engagements worth showing, translation and original content both, across finance, tech, hospitality, and fiction.

01Youth campaigns · Modern Standard Arabic

UNICEF

I translated chatbot scripts and social content for UNICEF’s global youth campaigns. The brief never really changed. Modern Standard Arabic, but in a conversational register that reads like an actual chat to a teenager, not a press release in disguise. The most recent run was an environmental campaign built to get teenagers to do something about the climate, which is a much harder writing job than it sounds.

02Product localization · Egyptian

Hostinger

I handle the Egyptian Arabic across Hostinger’s product suite. Marketing pages, the product UI, the help center, customer emails. My job is keeping one voice steady everywhere a user might land, from the homepage to the password reset email nobody enjoys reading. Egyptian Arabic done right for a global tech product is a narrow skill, and it’s the one they hand me.

03Annual reports · Financial

Al Rajhi Capital

I work with Al Rajhi Capital, one of the largest investment firms in the Gulf and part of the Al Rajhi Banking Group, on their financial and corporate content. That has covered the 2023 and 2024 annual reports, the chairman’s letter, the CEO message, business segments, the sukuk and IPO material, governance, the financial overview. Annual report translation for a Saudi financial institution is its own discipline. The Arabic has to satisfy the auditors, the IR team, and the CMA at once, across registers that swing from leadership voice to dense financial reporting to outright legal language. Being handed the same report two years running is the part that mattered most.

04Annual report · Tadawul / CMA

Avalon Pharma

I translated the 2024 annual report for Avalon Pharma, a Saudi pharmaceutical company that listed on Tadawul that February. All 145 pages of it. Chairman’s letter, CEO message, business model and operational review, the ACE strategy framework, investor relations, ESG, governance, board and executive bios. The Arabic shipped as the official version filed with the Saudi Capital Market Authority. That is the kind of work I like best, the document a company actually puts its name on.

05Cybersecurity · Technical proposal

Cipher Saudi

I’ve worked with Cipher Saudi, a Saudi cybersecurity firm serving enterprise clients in the Kingdom, across several projects. The biggest was a technical proposal north of 100 pages covering SOC services, threat intelligence, GRC, penetration testing, red teaming, and DFIR. Cybersecurity translation comes with its own rules. The acronyms stay in English because that’s what the audience actually says out loud, and the Arabic around them has to be precise enough that a security architect never loses three seconds wondering which term you meant.

06Content writing · EN/AR

Hospitality & GCC brands

I run the bilingual content for a portfolio of GCC hospitality and corporate brands, Novotel and Holiday Inn among them. This is the writing-from-scratch side of the practice: hotel websites and landing pages, in-room and dining content, seasonal promos, email flows, and the social calendars that keep a property visible between bookings. I also built the style guides and the review workflow it all runs through, so properties across Saudi and the UAE sound like themselves instead of like a template. Writing room copy that gets someone to actually book is a different muscle from translating a report, and it’s one I use every week.

Featured · Literary translation

I carried a Kirkus-starred fantasy trilogy into Arabic.

★ Kirkus Star #1 Amazon best-seller 3 volumes · 18 months

B.E. Boucher’s Jonster the Monster & the Bear (The Sceptre, The Secret City, and Elstrom Legacy) is a young-adult fantasy series that earned a coveted Kirkus Star (given to fewer than 90 of some 3,000 indie titles a year) and reached #1 on Amazon. I translated all three books into Arabic across eighteen months, holding voice, pacing, and the rhythm of teen dialogue steady from the first page of book one to the last of book three, the part that’s far harder than it looks. It’s a story the author wrote in honour of his late son, and carrying it into Arabic was a privilege.

“A bracing adventure: fun, fast, and with themes like love, friendship, and the power of family.”Kirkus Reviews · starred review
